Getting There
Written by Admin on 8:17 AMThe There are numerous routes that leads you to Boracay but either way, the main port entry will be the small town of Caticlan on the mainland. The small jetty port in Caliclan and the Cagban jetty port serves as Boracay's main entry and exit point most of the year, but when wind and sea conditions worsens, the east-facing Tambisan Beach serves as an alternate entry and exit point.
By Air
The easiest and fastest way to get to Boracay from Manila or Cebu is by air to Kalibo or Caticlan.
Airline schedules may vary so it is good to check with the airlines. Caticlan Airport is very near the port going to Boracay and in minutes you can be riding the small ferries to Boracay island but the airstrip is very short. It is usually served by smaller planes, mostly with propeller engine. The bigger Airport of Kalibo is served by bigger planes. But from Kalibo airport, you still need to ride a bus going to Caticlan port which is a minimum 90-minutes journey. For Experienced travellers, they usually prefer the Caticlan route but for less thrill seekers, the opt for Kalibo riding on bigger planes.

The following Airlines serve Caticlan:
South East Asian Airlines (SEAir)
Zest Air (Asian Spirit)
Philippine Airlines
Cebu Pacific

By Sea
Another way to Boracay is via ship, which usually docks in Caticlan.
Boats operated by MBRS travels from Manila's port going to Caticlan either once or twice a week depending on the seasonal demand.
Negros Navigation also travel from Manila's port to Boracay's White Beach on seasonal demand.
Other small ship operates daily trips from Roxas (Island of Mindoro) going to Caticlan between 6AM to 4PM.
7101 Islands Cruise Ship is a new luxury cruise ship sailing between Puerto Galera, Boracay Island and Coron in Palawan. Check their website for more finite schedule.
By Land
Philtranco coaches leave regularly throughout the day from Cubao, Manila for Mindanao, passing Caticlan on the Nautical Highway. The journey takes 12 hours.
Once you set in the island, you can find plenty of choices in getting around the island. Motorized Tricyles roamed almost all around Boracay and usually shared with other passengers. You can rent motorbikes and bicycles for a more flexible ride at reasonable price. Shuttle service are usually offered by hotel owners for a more convenient travel by their clients but expect a little charge on your bill. Taxi's are not available in the island since most place can be traveled in minutes, sometimes within walking distance, which most visitors do in moving around.
